Press release: Race Communications begins deliveries of Motorola Vanguard60/70/80 ISDN routers.

Race Communications, one of the leading Russian system
integrators, is starting to supply new ISDN routers Vanguard 60/70/80
of the Internet and Networking Group (ING) division of Motorola, the world
leader in the production of telecommunications equipment. Devices
Vanguard 60/70/80 provides connection of Ethernet LAN clients, telephone
and fax machines to the ISDN network and has advanced
remote management tools, including Web browser management.

The new ISDN routers are equipped with a 10BaseT port and are capable of supporting up
to 250 Ethernet network users. Distinctive feature of the products
Vanguard 60/70/80 - built-in tools for collecting and processing information about
calls over ISDN connections. The processing results are presented in various
formats: tabular, graphical based on Java, etc. In addition,
e-mail messages about exceeding thresholds are automatically generated,
for example, about excessive use of ISDN channels. These tools help
users choose the most efficient mode of operation and control
the costs of telecommunications services.

The youngest device in the family, Vanguard 60, is equipped with a single Ethernet port
10BaseT and one ISDN BRI S/T port. The Vanguard 70 router additionally
has two ports for connecting a telephone and a fax machine.

The senior member of the family, Vanguard 80, is also equipped with a serial
port that supports interfaces V.35, V.36, X.21 and V.24 (RS232). In
a typical Vanguard 80 activation scenario, the serial port is used
to establish a dedicated connection, and the ISDN backup port is used to
automatically restore the connection over the ISDN switched line in
case of an accident on the main channel.

The built-in Web server provides access to all local
management functions, including configuration, system status monitoring and
software updates. At the same time, it is not necessary to install
additional applications on the control PC. The Fast Start utility helps
the user set up an ISDN router. Access to the built-in Web server
of the Vanguard 60/70/80 equipment is carried out via the Ethernet port or
remotely via the Internet in a point-to-point session.
