Race Communications introduces the new Vanguard 242D router.

Race Communications announces the start of deliveries of the new Vanguard 242D router for small companies or branches. The Vanguard 242D router has a fixed configuration that is most suitable for use in modern telecommunications networks.

Two 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet ports and one universal serial port (V.24/V.35/V.36/X.21) allow you to connect local branch networks and terminal equipment to networks of various providers – both IP/Internet and X.25 or Frame Relay. Built-in security features allow you to use Vanguard 242D as part of virtual private networks (VPNs). Mechanisms such as IPsec encryption, firewall tools and other access authorization methods, including over the Internet, are supported.

An important distinguishing feature of the Vanguard 242D router is the support of a variety of serial protocols, including BSC 278/3270, SNA/SDLC, AS/400. The inexpensive Vanguard 242D router allows you to transfer local branch networks and individual terminal devices, such as ATMs, from access via dial-up or dedicated networks to broadband access networks (DSL), which provides significant savings in monthly telecommunications costs.

The cost of the Vanguard 242D router starts from $1,396, delivered from the Race Communications warehouse in Moscow or within 6-8 weeks.
