Race announces high-density synchronous/asynchronous port modules.
Race Communications begins deliveries of new modules of synchronous/asynchronous high -density Cisco NM-16A/S ports for Cisco 2600XM chassis, 2691, 3631, 3660, 3725, 3745. The module provides a maximum transfer rate on the port of 128 kb in synchronous mode and 115.2 kb in asynchronous mode.
The new NM-16A/S module has 16 ports, which is twice as much as on the previous NM-8A/S module, and uses the Smart connection type Serial to achieve high port density. The same type of connection is used in the WIC-2T and WIC-2A/S interface cards.
Synchronous/asynchronous ports are the most versatile serial ports that support various protocols and applications, such as the concentration of low-speed WAN channels, terminal access channels, SDLC transport channels. Programmatically, the module is supported in all types of software, starting with version 12.2(15)ZJ and the first release 12.3T.
