Cisco Catalyst 4000 switches are being discontinued.

Race Communications informs that from May 3, 2005, deliveries of Cisco Catalyst 4006 switches and Cisco Catalyst 4000 Supervisor Engine II processor modules will be discontinued. Race Communications experts recommend using the new Cisco Catalyst 4500 switch family and high-performance Cisco Catalyst Supervisor Engine II-Plus, IV, V processor modules.

Customers who have purchased Cisco Catalyst 4000 family switches and signed a service agreement for extended technical support will be able to receive new software versions until May 3, 2006, as well as full service support for already installed switches until May 3, 2010. Race Communications customers have the opportunity to receive an additional discount in case of replacement of Cisco Catalyst 4000 switches and Cisco Catalyst 4000 Supervisor Engine II processor modules with new models.
