New models of Cisco PIX Firewall 506E and 515E firewalls.
Cisco Systems has released two new
Cisco PIX Firewall 506E and 515E firewalls,
which have replaced the popular models
Cisco PIX Firewall 506 and 515. Designed for
use in corporate networks and for
connecting remote offices, the new
firewalls have higher
performance.
Cisco PIX Firewall firewalls provide
state-based security (stateful connection),
support the Cisco attack detection system
Secure Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and also allow
you to implement virtual private VPN networks
using standard IPsec technology
and DES (56 bit) and 3DES (168 bit) encryption.
The new PIX 515E model (UR and FO modifications) uses an integrated IPsec hardware Acceleration Module (VAC) that provides 3DES (168bit) encryption at speeds up to 63 Mbit/s, freeing up the CPU to perform other security-critical operations.
