Race Communications, one of the leading Russian system integrators, is starting deliveries of new high-performance entry-level switches from 3Com. The popular OfficeConnect family has been replenished with models equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet interface.

The OfficeConnect family of equipment provides an opportunity to economically and flexibly build efficient networks in small offices. Small dimensions, ready to work immediately after connecting cables and power supply make these devices extremely easy to operate. Product release OfficeConnect with Gigabit Ethernet interface allows you to significantly improve performance LAN without complicating the architecture and maintenance of the network.

OfficeConnect Switch 8 with Gigabit Uplink (product code 3C1670108) in addition to eight ports 10/100BaseT is also equipped with one 10/100/1000BaseT port, which can be used to connect to the backbone or to the server.

The OfficeConnect Gigabit Switch 5 device ( product code 3C1670500) is the most inexpensive 3Com backbone switch that supports five 10/100/1000BaseT ports. This model is used to connect servers, productive workstations, organize a workgroup-level backbone , or to connect to a higher -level backbone switch.

All devices of the OfficeConnect family are available in compact enclosures that allow integration into a "bookcase" with the help of special clips, and are equipped with external power sources. Each switch port automatically detects the speed and mode of connected users (10/100/1000 Mbps, half/full duplex, MDI/MDIX). The switches do not require configuration and provide data transfer at medium speed (wire speed) thanks to a non-blocking switching matrix.

The new devices are able to improve the passage of important traffic by supporting data prioritization and organizing multiple queues.
