Press release: Race Communications supplies DESK-top ADC modems of the WordDSL G family.

Race Communications, one of the leading Russian system integrators, announces the start of deliveries of desk-top versions of the popular DSL family of WorldDSL modems with support for the G.SHDSL standard, manufactured by ADC. Since June 2002, Race Communications has been supplying WorldDSL G modem cards designed for installation in small-sized enclosures and 19-inch chassis, uniform for the entire WorldDSL family.

The G.SHDSL standard supports the most advanced modulation for today TC-PAM, which differs from the widely used types of 2B1Q and CAP modulation by improved spectral and electromagnetic compatibility with signals most commonly transmitted over multi-pair telephone cables, including analog telephony, analog modems, ISDN, ICM-30 systems, etc. In addition, the modulation TC-PAM provides a transmission range approximately 10% longer than CAP and 20% longer than 2B1Q.

Three new modem models are available for order in small-sized desktop cases with 220 V AC power. The ETU-911A is equipped with a G.703/G.704 user interface, the ETU-912A is equipped with a V.35/V.36/X.21 programmable interface, and the ETU-914A is equipped with both interfaces. The ETU-914A model is capable of multiplexing traffic from both interfaces. For example, since the G.SHDSL standard allows data transmission at speeds up to 2.3 Mbit/s, using the ETU-914A it is possible to transmit a full 2 Mbit/s E1 or PRI stream from the interface G.703 and additionally a 300 kbit/s stream from the V.35 interface.

"Various versions - boards for installation in the chassis, stand-alone devices in a desktop enclosure - allow the use of ADC modems in a variety of applications: from simple connection of local office networks to building hierarchical networks of providers with high port density," said Rafael Shamiev, head of the product department of Race Communications.

The new equipment is delivered from the Race Communications warehouse or on order at the following recommended retail prices: ETU-911A - $645, ETU-912A - $645, ETU-914A - $675.
