Race Communications company announces the start of deliveries of extensions for network management software CiscoWorks2000 Routed WAN (RWAN) and LAN Management.The new Device Fault Manager (DFM) 1.0 software module allows administrators to receive real-time information about errors and addresses of devices that are sources of problems in the local and global network, which ensures timely troubleshooting.

New version of the CiscoWorks2000 RWAN and LAN packages Management includes management of voice capabilities and VPNs (virtual private networks). Resource Manager Essentials applications, which have complemented the RWAN and LAN Management solution packages, support various Cisco Voice and VPN platforms and technologies, giving easy access to VPN configuration functions, network status display and error analysis.

To manage the voice parameters of campus networks, the LAN Management solution provides advanced monitoring and error analysis functions. The user can monitor phone calls on the network, identify events that affect the quality of voice transmission, associate the IP phone number and its address, and reassign the ports to which the phones are connected. In addition, all platforms that support voice functions identify and display telephones on the network map.

The RWAN Management solution also includes improved device response time checking and monitoring of available network devices. The Internetwork Performance Monitor (IPM) 2.2 application offers users access to a number of system functions via a Web interface and is a useful tool for identifying and correcting network problems that have arisen. The advanced VPN Latency analysis feature helps IPM 2.2 users quickly identify network events and identify bottlenecks related to the current load of the VPN network.

The Device Fault Manager (DFM) module of the family CiscoWorks2000 collects information about Cisco hardware errors and reports it to the operator interactively. The information is not only displayed in real time on the CiscoWorks2000 screen, but can also be transmitted to other devices for additional analysis. DFM provides advanced management capabilities, scales easily , and currently supports more than 100 Cisco devices.
