Race introduces new HWIC interface cards for Cisco 2800 and 3800.

New Gigabit interface cards enable the use of high-speed and efficient gigabit ports on routers for remote offices and branches of large companies. This feature is applicable for routing between virtual local area networks (inter-VLAN routing), when connecting to urban MAN networks and in other tasks where a Gigabit Ethernet connection is required.

The new generation Gigabit interface card HWIC-1GE-SFP is designed for use in modular routers of the 2800 and 3800 series, with the exception of the 2801 model. Only one such module can be installed in the 2800 series routers, and up to 2 such modules can be installed in the 3800 series model.

Cisco 2851 1

Cisco 3845 2

There is one slot on the interface card for installing SFP media converters. The following SFP modules are supported: GLC-T=, GLC-LH-SM=, GLC-SX-MM=, GLC-ZX-SM=, as well as CWDM SFP modules.

It should be noted that the use of these interface cards allows you to organize Gigabit Ethernet connections, but does not provide gigabit speeds. This limitation depends on the router model: for older router models, the total speed is about 500 Mbit/s. The required minimum version of Cisco IOS software is 12.3(8)T4.

The cost of the HWIC-1GE-SFP interface card without the SFP module according to the GPL price list is $3,500. Delivery from the Race Communications warehouse in Moscow or within 6-8 weeks.
