Transition to a new line of Cisco Systems switches.

Cisco Systems announced the imminent termination (from May 2, 2006) of the production of Cisco Catalyst 3550 series switches, with the exception of the Cisco Catalyst 3550-24-DC model. If there is a signed service contract, technical support for the purchased equipment will be provided until May 2, 2011.

Race Communications specialists already recommend customers to use Cisco Catalyst 3750 and Cisco Catalyst 3560 series switches. The new models offer improved features such as support for the 802.3af power supply standard, high-density Gigabit Ethernet ports and IPv6 protocol support.

Customers using the Cisco Catalyst 3550-24-FX model are offered a replacement for the Cisco Catalyst 3750-24FS switch, which has 24 100-FX ports.

All models of Cisco Catalyst 3750 and Cisco Catalyst 3560 series switches can already be ordered from Race Communications. The equipment is delivered from a warehouse in Moscow or within 8 weeks.
