Race Communications introduces new modules for Cisco 7200 series routers.

Race Communications introduces three new products for Cisco 7200 series routers that provide aggregation of global and urban network services: Cisco 7200 Network Processing Engine (NPE-G2), Cisco 7200 VPN Services Adapter (VSA) and Cisco 7200 Port Adapter Jacket Card. The new modules help meet the growing demands for power, security and network capacity resulting from the deployment of integrated services. The unique combination of scalability, performance and flexibility allows for secure aggregation of services with routing via OC-3 and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.

Cisco 7200 NPE-G2 is the latest routing module for the Cisco 7200VXR chassis. Compared to previous versions, the Cisco 7200 NPE-G2 has twice the performance when working in a multiservice environment. The module provides full support for Cisco IOS software. Additional features of the new routing module include network access control functions, connections to virtual private networks (VPNs) with a high degree of protection and an IP-to-IP voice gateway.

Cisco 7200 VSA is a hardware acceleration module for VPN, which, when working with the Cisco 7200 NPE–G2 module, provides a threefold increase in network performance. High performance allows you to support a wide range of IPsec aggregation architectures and provides more reliable protection of connections running the Cisco IOS operating system.

Cisco 7200 Port Adapter Jacket Card is a special module designed to increase the density of slots in the router chassis. This module is installed in a slot designed for I/O cards and allows you to install one port adapter to provide additional capacity for systems with the Cisco 7200 NPE-G1 module or with modules of later versions. The Cisco 7200 Port Adapter Jacket Card allows you to economically increase the slot density and switching capacity using the new Cisco 7200 NPE-G2 module.

Integration of services in Cisco 7200 series routers allows you to reduce operating costs, simplify network maintenance and management. In addition, the ability to add services without changing equipment protects the initial investment.
